About Mark

Mark has over three decades of experience in the Aspen, Snowmass and the Roaring Fork Valley real estate market and helped build one of the region’s leading real estate agencies along the way. He ultimately accepted an invitation to join Aspen Snowmass Sotheby’s International Realty in early 2019. Mark brings an unmatched level of expertise and a cache of knowledge to ASSIR along with an extensive network of loyal clients from long-time locals to avid ski town enthusiasts to second homeowners to real estate investors. Families from all corners of the globe have engaged Mark to assist them sometimes with multiple transactions — even some outside of Colorado — and are prone to pass him down through multiple generations. 

Throughout his four-plus decades as a valley resident he has owned properties in Aspen, Snowmass Village and Carbondale, which has provided him with valuable insight into the entire area as well as a broad and unique understanding of the numerous sub-markets.

Mark consistently ranks near the top in brokered transactions in a membership of almost 800 local, licensed realtors. He attributes such success to knowing the market, his strategic problem-solving capabilities and his innate ability to read a room matched with his friendly, yet steadfast negotiation skills.  

Mark is so well respected amongst his peers that in 2018, he was voted Realtor of the Year by the Aspen Board of Realtors (ABOR) — a prestigious award honoring an exceptional broker for deeds, service and spirit that advances the dignity of the profession. Mark is also a multi-time past honoree as Aspen’s Favorite Realtor as presented in the Aspen Times’ annual “Best of Aspen” awards issue and voted on by the local populace. In 2025, 2023 and 2021, Mark was recognized as one America’s Best and Top Real Estate Individuals in Colorado by REALTRENDS Verified. 

Known as “a broker’s broker,” Mark is an active member of Aspen Board of Realtors where he currently serves as the 2025 President. He has also chaired the Professional Standards Grievance committee for many years and currently serves as an Ombudsman. These respected, arduous positions are a testament to his integrity and respect amongst the association membership.

In addition to being a member of the Aspen Board of Realtors, Mark is also an active member of the Colorado Association of Realtors where he serves as a voting director, and the National Association of Realtors where he collaborates with others in the industry on a national platform to advocate for the advancement of public policies that help to build strong communities, protect consumers property rights, their private property interests and real estate investment as well as to promoting a vibrant business environment.  

Mark also holds the industry's continued educational designations of GRI (Graduate of the Realtor Institute), ABR (Accredited Buyers Representative) and RSPS (Resort and Second Home Property Specialist). 

Born in Mankato, Minnesota, Mark has retained strong Midwestern roots and values, which has translated into a refreshing and humble approach to his real estate career. When he isn’t working with his clients, who more often than not turn into lifelong friends, you can find him exploring “the highest of peaks and the quietest most scenic of places” where he enjoys skiing, mountain biking, hiking, river running and horseback riding. But his favorite adventure of all is spending time with his partner Chantal and playing proud super dad with his Children, Cassandra in New York and Christian in Denver and watching them grow their own independence and creating their own lives as young adults.
